As a category manager, your job will be to seed and cultivate the marketplace by attracting buyers and sellers to SidelineSwap. This role requires deep knowledge of the market, including consumer behavior and product knowledge, sales experience, a ton of grit, and a passion for making sports more affordable. You’ll need to be comfortable working autonomously, but working with our team towards company objectives. The job is often extremely challenging, but equally rewarding.
In this role, you will:
Work with our business development team to create and execute growth hacking strategies
Identify opportunities to bring new supply onto the platform -- Ideally supply that otherwise is not being sold online.
Build relationships with key players in existing communities
Work with our marketing team to understand current category health, marketing strategies, marketing targets and provide in sport expertise
Work with our community & customer success team to provide product knowledge
SidelineSwap is the leading marketplace in the sporting goods industry. Our platform blends commerce with community to deliver a fresh marketplace experience that has attracted more than 150k high school, college athletes, and sports families since we launched in 2015.

Extensive product and market knowledge in snow sports and cycling
Proven hustler and relationship builder
Experience in sales or account management - Retail, e-commerce, and outdoor sporting goods industry experience are an asset but not required
This could be a part-time or full-time role, with a minimum commitment of 20 hours / week required. If you were to start part-time, there is an opportunity to grow into a full-time position.
Able to work autonomously and independently - This position is challenging, unique and requires an entrepreneurial mindset.
Able to work remotely and set your own hours. We have an office in Charlestown, MA but are open to candidates throughout the US.
